Rooted in Safety, Rising in Love

When The Body Feels Safe, The Heart Awakens.

If you want to expand your consciousness, align with your highest timeline, magnetize abundance, or truly live your best life, the path isn’t through the mind, it’s felt through the rhythm of the heart; this is where real magnetism begins.

When we truly live life in the heart space something inside of us shifts that allows our nervous system to soften, our breath deepens and life becomes receptive, harmonious and sacred rather than reactive.

The heart was the first organ to develop in the human body. Long before our brains began processing thoughts and logic; our hearts were already beating, guiding us with a deeper, instinctual intelligence. It is, therefore, the heart that informs the brain. It is believed that the heart’s energy field extends several feet beyond the physical body, meaning it has the power to influence those around us. For those of us who are highly sensitive, this energy is tangible and we can often sense when someone is genuine by the warm, uplifting feeling radiating from their heart centre. It’s not something seen, but something deeply felt.

While living in Bali, this is reflected to me many times. And it’s one of the reasons I love this island so much. It’s not just the beauty and sacredness held in the land but it’s also the genuine kindness and openness of the people.

You can feel the heart energy everywhere.

It’s not seen its felt. The people smile from deep within.

The nervous system is no longer on high alert or operating from defence. Instead, it is trusting and in full devotion to life. This inner state radiates outward, reflecting into the physical realm. Fully embodied. Fully alive.

When I walk through the streets, I see Balinese women carrying all sorts of things on their heads.

What strikes me is not just their balance, but their presence.

They are not rushing or forcing. They pause, they smile, and they even stop to chat.

Their eyes are soft and smiling.

Their hearts are joyful.

Why? Because they are grounded, embodied and their nervous systems anchored deeply into the earth. This is where true strength is born: from within.

When the nervous system is anchored, the heart can open. And this is when we begin to truly live.

The heart is often referred to as having its own brain and it actually also has its own nervous system of roughly 40,000 neurons. This enables it to directly communicate with the brain and the body. When we’re in stress or fear, the heart’s rhythm becomes erratic, sending signals to the brain that reinforce survival mode. But, when we’re calm, grateful, or in a state of love, the body feels safe and allows for the heart to open and thus it creates a coherent rhythm. This rhythm signals the brain to relax, restore, and access higher awareness.

The heart sends more signals to the brain than the brain sends to the heart.

The heart plays a major role in shaping our emotions, thoughts, and decisions. It does this through its connection with the vagus nerve and the autonomic nervous system. When the heart, mind, and emotions are in sync, we experience what’s called heart coherence. In this state, heart rhythms become smooth and stable, leading to greater emotional balance, focus, and well-being. Heart coherence supports the prefrontal cortex, which boosts our decision-making, creativity, and intuition.

The sympathetic nervous system speeds up the heart in response to stress, while the parasympathetic system, particularly the vagus nerve, slows it down to restore calm. One of the most effective ways to regulate the nervous system and promote inner balance is by supporting heart coherence.

When we enter a state of heart coherence we may experience feelings of calm, flow, love and gratitude. The breath, heart, and brain synchronize into a harmonious rhythm. This alignment nurtures healing on both somatic and spiritual levels, helping the nervous system return to a regulated state.

This means your heart’s state directly shapes how your nervous system perceives and responds to the world.

This deep connection between emotional health and physical health can be made obvious to us when we are in stressful situations. If we take a moment to pause and breathe into the heart, we almost instantaneously re-centre ourselves and will likely witness a quick transformation, a sense of clarity, connection and a renewed direction or knowing of what to do.

Furthermore, the heart’s magnetic field is the strongest rhythmic field produced by the human body. It not only envelops every cell of the body, but it also extends out in all directions and space around us. Many believe the heart is connected to, or an extension of, the torus field, which is a fundamental structure found throughout nature. Shaped like a donut, the torus represents the continuous overflow of energy and information.

When we think of the heart as a torus, it emphasizes how energy flows in and out, creating a continuous cycle of expansion and contraction. This flow is not just physical but also emotional, spiritual, and even energetic in nature. The heart, being the centre of this toroidal field, is believed to be the focal point where our individual energy connects with the greater universe.

In this view, the heart is not just a biological organ, but the core of our being, the place where the individual connects with the universal energy. It is through this energetic connection that we experience a sense of unity, peace, and even “divine knowing.”

What’s even more interesting is how these multidimensional aspects of the heart can influence the way we experience reality. When in alignment, we’re able to move beyond the limitations of our senses and tap into a more expansive, unified field of consciousness, almost like seeing through the eyes of the universe itself. The more in tune we are with the heart’s energy field, the more easily we move beyond limitations and align with the flow of the universe.

But here’s the catch: until your nervous system is grounded, your heart can’t fully receive.

You might catch glimpses or sparks of love and of course, you can still have moments that feel good. But I’m talking full-blown, electromagnetic bliss!

This is the kind of unconditional, divine love that heals you from your deepest heartbreak. We access that not just through our mind or spirit, but through the nervous system.

You may sense divine guidance or receive light codes, but without a grounded system, you won’t be able to make sense of them, let alone integrate them into the physical reality. This is often where we find ourselves stuck in consciousness traps or looping patterns.

The truth is that a closed heart can’t translate higher wisdom into embodied understanding.

Before we can open the heart or enter deep emotional or spiritual transformation, we must first root ourselves in the sacred foundation of a grounded nervous system. Without this inner stability, we are like trees without roots, vulnerable to emotional storms, prone to overwhelm, and disconnected from our inner wisdom.

A dysregulated nervous system becomes a barrier between us and the soul’s call to expand, making vulnerability feel unsafe and emotional depth seem threatening rather than freeing.

Every time we experience a heart-opening, that energy must be integrated, embodied and rewired through the pathways of the nervous system.

The two must work together in harmony. Without this grounding process, the experience can remain fleeting or even overwhelming. But with conscious integration, our capacity expands allowing us to hold more light, receive deeper insights, and anchor higher frequencies into the physical body. As this process unfolds over time, the nervous system becomes more regulated and resilient. This, in turn, allows the heart to open even more to greater love, deeper connection, and a fuller experience of abundance. With each cycle of opening and integration, we align more fully with our true nature and the infinite potential that lives within the heart.

When the heart is open and safe, the nervous system interprets life as safe too.

The heart acts as a bridge, between the nervous system and our emotions, between the body and the energy field and between survival and soul.

When you regulate the nervous system, you support the heart’s coherence.

When you open the heart, you send safety cues back to the nervous system.

They are mirrors of each other, and together, they create a rhythm that determines how we feel, connect, and heal.

Grounding the nervous system is therefore not a side note; it is a prerequisite for heart-opening processes.
